28 January 2025

Rome

The European Business Council for Africa (EBCAM) attended the annual event organized by the monthly magazine Africa e Affari in Rome, focused on Africa’s political and economic outlook for 2025. The conference, titled “Africa 2025 – Political and Economic Perspectives”, was held at the Italian Geographical Society.

The event explored key themes shaping Africa’s future, including economic growth projections, challenges posed by armed conflicts, climate change, and social unrest stemming from poverty and unemployment among the youth. Discussions were informed by reports from leading institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank, which highlighted Africa’s integration into global economic dynamics and the expected growth exceeding 4% by 2025, driven by private consumption and investments.

The conference also provided an opportunity to reflect on the role of international cooperation and institutions in fostering sustainable development across the continent.
