How can Africa achieve universal access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy by 2030—at a time when global development finance is under pressure and geopolitical priorities are shifting?

Join the 22nd AEEP Energy Talks for a high-level discussion on the future of SDG7 financing in Africa, with a sharp focus on the evolving role of Africa–Europe cooperation. The webinar will launch the 4th edition of AEEP’s flagship report on European financial flows to SDG7 in Africa, offering a decade-long, data-driven perspective on who finances Africa’s energy transition, how, and where critical gaps remain.

Participants will also gain first insights into the Africa-EU Green Energy Initiative (AEGEI) under the Global Gateway—Europe’s new framework to support clean energy access for 100 million people and 50 GW of renewables in Africa by 2030.

Bringing together senior policymakers, financiers and experts from Africa and Europe, the webinar will unpack how SDG7 progress can be sustained in a constrained and geopolitically complex environment—and what must be prioritised now to keep the 2030 goal within reach.
