The European Business Council for Africa

30-31 March 2026

Monrovia, Liberia

The National Fisheries Investment Conference (NFIC) is Liberia’s premier platform for mobilizing investment, strengthening partnerships, and shaping the future of the country’s fisheries and aquaculture sector. Organized by the National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) and supported by the World Bank–funded Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project (LSMFP), the conference brings together national leaders, investors, development partners, technical experts, and coastal communities to advance Liberia’s blue-economy vision.

NFIC 2026 will be held from 30–31 March 2026 in Monrovia, with more than 250 participants expected. The event features high-level policy dialogues, technical sessions, and a dedicated Blue Investment Marketplace for showcasing innovative solutions across the fisheries value chain.

Why the Conference Matters

Liberia’s fisheries sector is central to national food security, livelihoods, and coastal resilience. More than 28,161 are directly involved, 78,453 are indirectly involved, which include artisanal fishers, processors, and traders contribute to supplying roughly 35,700 tons of fish annually, even though the country remains a net importer due to infrastructure gaps, post-harvest losses, and IUU fishing challenges

Mobilize Investments and Strategic Partnership

NFIC showcases bankable projects and sector reforms, offering investors and DFIs a structured platform for engagement and deal exploration.

Strengthen Inclusive Stakeholder Participation

The conference brings together government institutions, private sector actors, artisanal fishers, youth, women’s groups, academia, and civil society. Communications will be multilingual and inclusive, with sign-language and Braille support.

Promote Safety, Compliance, and Sector Governance

The event adheres to national and donor protocols on security, public health, and branding, ensuring a professional and compliant environment.
