SADC will convene a Joint Meeting of Ministers responsible for Energy and for Water, aimed at deepening regional cooperation and reviewing progress on key infrastructure and policy initiatives in the two vital sectors.

In the Energy sector, Ministers will deliberate on:
✅ Regional energy demand and supply
✅ Progress on infrastructure and integration projects
✅ Renewable energy and green technologies
✅ The Mission 300 electricity access initiative
✅ Regulation of petroleum, gas and uptake of smart grids
✅ Recommendations on Just Energy Transition

In the Water sector, key topics will include:
✔️ Transboundary water projects and shared basin management
✔️ Water and sanitation services across Member States
✔️ Climate-resilient infrastructure and policy reviews
✔️ Groundwater and livelihoods grant projects

📌 The Joint Ministerial Meeting will be preceded by a Senior Officials’ meetings from 30 June to 02 July 2025.

A highlight of the gathering will be the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), to be hosted by the Government of Zimbabwe on 03 July 2025.

This event reaffirms SADC’s commitment to regional integration, sustainable development, and access to energy and water for the SADC citizens.
