The East African Community (EAC) and its eight Partner States, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda, is the fastest-growing region in Africa.

This economic powerhouse of 320million people stretches from Indian to Atlantic oceans and aims to deepen economic partnership with European Union.As an economic powerhouse of Germany, the State of Hesse and the EAC, together with the East African Business Council (EABC), Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft, and the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), invite businesses from all eight Partner States and Germany to the first German-East African Business and Investment Forum 2026 in Frankfurt and Berlin.
The Forum will focus on key sectors including Digital Markets & Artificial Intelligence, Tourism & Logistics, Health & Pharmaceuticals, Critical Raw Materials & Carbon Credits, and Agri-business & Trade, with the following objectives:

• Update on economic development, trade and investmentopportunities in East Africa.
• Business2Business match-making to incubate trade and investments.
• Field Trips to German industry and innovation centers
• Political dialogue with German policymakers and business associations.
• Strengthen the foundation for sustained cooperation between Germany, the EU and East Africa ahead of the planned 2026 EU Business Roadshow in Africa.
