The European Business Council for Africa

Date: 27 April 2022, 10:00-13:00 CEST

Online

The German RETech Partnership, Afrika-Verein (German-African Business Association) and Business Scouts for Development have the pleasure to invite you to the first workshop of the business series.

Egypt is the second largest economy in Africa and one of Germany’s most important trading partners on the continent. While the country is known for its effective economic reforms, hunger for innovation and mayor infrastructural developments one of the potential growth sectors is too often ignored: the circular economy.

Egypt is one of the largest industrial centres of the northern African region but has spent little resources on developing a circular economy to match its industrial development. In order to address the issue, various international development institutions are supporting the establishment of the Egyptian Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA) which provides new services for the waste sector in cooperation with existing actors.

This is why the objective of this workshop is to understand and identify the current bottlenecks for businesses within the sector, to present financing and partnership options not only for project development but also the operation phase and align the activities of private sector with ongoing and planned projects of the German development cooperation in Egypt.

After registration you will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire in order to address the needs of the participants adequately.
