On November 23, 2021 from 9:45 to 11:45, the Angolan Institute of State Asset Management and Participation (IGAPE), together with the Delegation of German Business in Angola and Afrika-Verein, invites to a digital roadshow to learn more about the Angolan privatization program ProPriv and the related investment opportunities and divestment procedures.
In addition to contributions from the Angolan Minister of Finance, Vera Daves De Souza, the German Ambassador in Luanda, Dr. Stefan Traumann, the Angolan Secretary of State for Finance, Ottoniel dos Santos, the Angolan Agency for Private Investment (AIPEX), the Angolan privatization authority IGAPE, the Angolan Stock Exchange (BODIVA) and the Angolan petroleum company Sonangol, the agenda also includes a Q&A session that will allow participants to exchange views directly with the speakers.
Since 2019, the Angolan government has been implementing the ProPriv privatization program, under which 195 state-owned enterprises are to be fully or partially privatized up to and including 2022. The aim is to strengthen the private sector and thus promote the country's growth and create jobs. The privatization program covers virtually all relevant sectors of Angola's economy: finance, telecommunications, mining, agriculture and energy. Since the program was introduced, 43 companies/assets have been privatized.
