Background information:

Since 2019, the Angolan government has been implementing the ProPriv privatization program, under which 195 state-owned enterprises are to be fully or partially privatized up to and including 2022. The aim is to strengthen the private sector and thus promote the country's growth and create jobs. The privatization program covers virtually all relevant sectors of Angola's economy: finance, telecommunications, mining, agriculture and energy. Since the program was introduced, 43 companies/assets have been privatized.
