Europe is grappling with a significant labour shortage, driven by an aging population and declining workforce, particularly in rural and peripheral regions. To secure long-term growth and maintain its global competitiveness, Europe must focus on attracting young global talent. This event marks the official launch of the paper “Confronting Europe’s Labour Shortage: A Strategic Blueprint to Attract Global Talent”, developed by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.

The event will showcase the key recommendations from the paper, including setting clear migration targets aligned with regional labour needs, implementing reskilling programs for smooth integration, and building a compelling ‘European Dream’ to attract top talent. The event aims to explore how can the EU effectively address its labour shortages to remain competitive and the key strategies that are essential to attract top talent.
