Petros Makris-Kourkoulos studied Development Politics and Economics with focus on Balkan countries and have a Master’s Degree in International Politics form Bristol University, UK with specialty in energy politics. After his studies, he served the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked as project coordinator and research analyst at institutes of analysis and has also experience from media, newspapers and event management.

Petros lives and works in Brussels since 2011 and in 2019 he became the Chief Operating Officer of the European Business Council for Africa (EBCAM), the European Federation of the national chambers dedicated to Africa. At EBCAM, he is responsible for daily operations, communication, public relations,, business development, policy and strategic planning. In March 2022 he joined the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) as Communication, Events and EU project Manager to work with EU funded programmes and projects in the area of education, mobility and social inclusion. Petros has a strong knowledge of EU policies and EU Institutions and his interest focuses on the field of development.

He speaks fluently English, French and Greek.
