Dr. Sotiris Mousouris, originally from Thrace and Kefalonia, graduated in Law and Political and Economic Sciences from the Kapodistrian University, Fulbright scholarship holder, continued postgraduate studies in Boston, obtaining a PhD from Harvard Business School.

From 1966 to 1995 he served at the United Nations Organization in New York - in between he served in 1981-82 as Deputy Commander ETVA in Greece-- as an economist (West African Common Market plan, research and code of conduct for multinational companies, etc.) and for 12 years Assistant Secretary General managing economic and political sectors of the Secretariat: Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), UN system coordination, international conferences, Center against Apartheid, Department of Political Affairs and Personal Envoy of the Secretary General for Afghanistan and Pakistan and Humanitarian Aid Coordinator for Afghanistan (1992-95)

In Greece, he was the first president of the Organization for the Construction of the New Acropolis Museum (1995-2000) and a member of the founding Steering Committee of the Open University. special adviser and representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, founder and until today President of the Hellenic-African Chamber of Commerce and Development, Secretary General of the Maragopoulos Foundation for Human Rights, and President or member of the Board of Directors. institutes and foundations of cultural and political-economic issues. Honorary doctor of Aristotle and the University of Peloponnese, he was honored with the highest award of South Africa for his contribution to the abolition of apartheid and the development of Africa. Author of "Afghanistan .. and suddenly the Taliban" (2019) and many publications on the UN, development, international relations, human rights, etc. He was honored by the President of the Republic on 26-9-2021 with the "Ioanni Kapodistria" Award of Excellence.
