EBCAM attends the 2nd Meeting of the European Commission
Expert Group on Enhanced Coordination of External Financial Tools

On 28 May, the European Business Council for Africa attended in person the 2nd Meeting of the European Commission Expert Group on Enhanced Coordination of External Financial Tools, an initiative of DG INTPA and DG TRADE to bring together the Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and the Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to contribute to the development of emerging markets by enhancing investments and trade.
During the all-day closed door meeting, there was a exchange of perpectives and priorities of the EU Institutions and the national bodies with important insights on the challenges, bottlenecks but also potential opportunities for investments and trade.
The private sector was represented by companies and associations of the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group which shared its analysis and observations so far by the operations of the framework of the Global Gateway strategy, the global competitive position of the industry and impact of financial tools on different sector such as renewable energy, digital transformation and critical raw materials, especially in regions of the African continent.
EBCAM particpated as an observer together with other civil society organisations from academia, think tanks and sectorial European associations.
Next meeting will take place again in Brussels in autumn 2024.
