As primary sector, agriculture is the cornerstone of development for emerging economies worldwide and the basis for human wellbeing and health. In Africa, the sector has the potential to decrease poverty, to boost rural development and thereby, to improve overall living conditions drastically. To achieve those goals, innovation and adaptation to local requirements will be necessary.

Within the framework of our 11th German-African Agribusiness Forum, we will take a review of future-oriented projects that have been tackled in recent years but also look into the future and obstacles of agriculture in Africa. We want to provide a platform for all kinds of experts and practitioners in the field and renew our commitment to partnerships between Germany and Europe with Africa.

Among others, the following topics may be addressed:

- Agri-Food systems transformation through innovation
- EU-African agri-food trade
- Sustainable livestock farming
- Environmental protection and food security
- Agricultural value chains for rural development
- Land rights and access to land
- Access to equipment & inputs for farmers
